embroidery

About 4 years into my time making cosplay costumes, I decided to have a go at my first ever embroidery. It was for a costume from Game of Thrones, covered in beading and sparkles, and very badly done. Having had no formal training (and the majority of resources available online or in person being incredibly inaccessible for those with a low income), the years since have contained endless research and practice. I'm particularly partial to fantasy style costume embroidery, with organic and natural swirls and beading, but I do dabble with more traditional techniques from time to time! I have recently developed a love for Goldwork (embroidery using metals traditionally) and can't wait to expand my skills with this further. My current project is a gigantic costume replica, with more than 500 hours of stitching so far (and many more to come!)
